Solar eclipse on the next day of Christmas eve in 2019 was the last solar eclipse for the second decade of the millennium. The type of eclipse is Annular Solar eclipse. To know more about the scientific terms of Annular Solar eclipse, have a look at https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/annular-solar-eclipse.html It was observed in many parts of the world along with some parts of south India. Cheruvathur in Kerala is where the phenomenon was observed first in India. In cheruvathur it was started at 8:04 am, reached its maximum- Ring of fire at 9:27 am and ended at 11:05 am, total of 3hr 12min. Eclipse during sunrise (sun and moon rising together) was observed in Qatar, UAE, Oman. One could observe devil horns in these places.
I had captured this stellar phenomenon with my Canon 600D, 300mm f4 lens with solar filter in Cheruvathur. This was the first time I had captured a Solar Eclipse and infact first time I had observed an Annular Solar eclipse.
Look at the gallery below for further more pictures of eclipse. I had visited Bekkal fort and Bekkal beach near to Cheruvathur and got some nice photos (in the gallery).
